ALTERS QUALITY & SCREENING

All candidates are pre-selected through a thorough and rigorous process, which in most cases involve testing.

  • Face-to-Face Interviews and Testing

  • At least two references are taken up from previous employers and more where this is deemed appropriate.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the immigration and Asylum Seekers Act 1996.

  • All professional qualifications, where this is a requirement for the job, are checked.

  • Health and Safety briefing and moving and handling briefing.

  • All our staff undertake the Enhanced Disclosure CRB, POCA and POVA checks.

"Enhanced Disclosure are for posts involving greater contact with children or vulnerable adults such as a social worker or doctor. Such work might involve regularly caring for, training, supervising or being in sole charge of such people. Enhanced Disclosures are also issued in respect of other positions such as those seeking judicial appointments, and certain statutory licensing purposes".


POCA : Protection of Children Act

"POVA operates as a workforce ban on people who have harmed, or placed at risk of harm, a vulnerable adult in their care. Providers of care must not offer employment to individuals on the POVA list and people who know they are confirmed on the list but seek employment in care positions will face criminal charges including possible imprisonment".


POVA : Protection of Vunerable Adults Act

"The Protection of Vulnerable Adults - POVA - scheme will act as a workforce ban on those professionals who have harmed vulnerable adults in their care. It will add an extra layer of protection to the pre-employment processes, including Criminal Records Bureau checks, which already take place and stop known abusers from entering the care workforce."
